Beautiful blue purebreed doberman. One year old, Dupree is
significantly sight impaired but not blind. Born with the
predisposition to develop what became a very pronounced
prolapse of the third eyelid, also known as cherry eye.
Dobie-Rescue was lucky to secure his safety from a high kill
Florida municipal shelter facility, literally at the last day and hour
when we became aware of his fate. Dedicated volunteers
provided transportation to Tallahassee, where the diminutive
blue doberman has been brought back to an acceptable weight
and named Dupree. He loves his name and enthusiastically runs
to you when he hears it. Walks well on a leash, but also follows
you closely without a leash, as he listens intently for your
footsteps. Dupree runs very swiftly in the yard and misses all the
outdoor obstacles with ease. At feeding time he does best with
elevated stationary feeding/drinking station. Finally the cosmetic
surgical procedure of having the cherry eyes removed, is
complete and totally healed, Dupree is now beautiful and seeking
his perfect forever home. He plays well with other dogs after a
short introduction period as he is fearful of the other dog at the
onset, some dogs do pick at him, supposedly because they
sense his disability? Other dogs seem to accept him normally.
Dupree is okay with cats too. Crate trained, house trained,
loves to be included on car rides at which time he will get as
close to you as he can and go to sleep.
Fostered in Tallahassee, Florida, please write to Dupree care of
